How to Commission a Portrait

Wander through the galleries. Start with the Recent Works, then explore Dogs, Cats, and the rest. You will see a variety of styles and approaches. Find some you especially like and make note of them.
Get Good Photos
I need good photos to create an accurate and high-quality portrait for you. If you have a favorite photo, GREAT! Send it, along with several others, so I can confirm structure and details. The more you can help me know your pet, the happier you will be with the end result.
Contact Me
Send your photos to me at susan@susanecklesart.com, along with as much information as you can give me about your goals, time frame, preferences, and detail about your pet. I will recommend approaches, give you prices using alternate media, and discuss the schedule for completion.
Let's Get Started!
Once we agree on the image, price, and schedule, a deposit of 50% is required to book the project. A portrait generally takes 30-60 hours of drawing time to complete.
I will be in regular communication with you through the process, will send drafts along the way to ensure that I am capturing your pet's spirit and personality, and will send a photo of the final for your approval before final billing. If you aren't happy with the result, I will adjust or redo until you are happy.
Upon receipt of your final payment, I will ship your original portrait, along with a limited edition desktop print for your enjoyment.
The Fine Print
You are purchasing the original work of art for your full enjoyment. You are not purchasing the copyright to the work. I retain the copyright and all rights to duplicate or reproduce the image.
